CDMN CONDEMNS KILLING OF REV. LAWAN ANDIMI, SAYS BUHARI IS GOOD AT CONDEMNING TERRORISTS’ ATTACKS BUT LACK SOLUTIONS TO SECURITY PROBLEMS

The Christian Democratic Movement of Nigeria (CDMN) has expressed shock on the murder of Rev. Lawan Andimi by the Boko Haram terrorist sect and condemned the killing.

CDMN in a statement by the National Coordinator, Wole Adedoyin described the killing as brutal, barbaric and inhuman. Also another attempt to persecute Christians and puncture the peace that has gradually returning among the religious groups in the country.

The Christian Democratic Movement of Nigeria (CDMN) advocated improvement of security intelligence gathering by relevant security agencies to prevent a recurrence in the future. 

The Movement however urged the security agencies to prevent a recurrence in the future.

CDMN finally commiserated with the families of the deceased and the entire members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) over the sad event.

The Christian Democratic Movement of Nigeria (CDMN)  has condemned the killings of 10 Christians who were captured in the past weeks from the north-eastern Borno State. The Movement also berated President Mohammadu Buahri and the Borno State Governor for not providing adequate protection and security for Christians in Nigeria and Borno state.

This was contained in a statement issued and signed by the National Coordinator of the Movement, Wole Adedoyin after an emergency meeting of the Movement in Ibadan on Friday.

Though, President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the apparent killings and urged Nigerians not to let themselves be divided along religious lines. But CDMN which berated President Muhammadu Buhari for not taken any action in the past on major religion killings in the country called for the perpetrators of violence in the region to be held to account. The Movement also accused the international community of failing to act.

CDMN also accused President Muhammadu Buhari led government of failing to act to help put an end to religion terrorism in the northern part of the country.

“We already know that President Buhari’s fight against corruption is one sided. He should not limit his fight against fake corruption agenda is pursuing. He should concentrate on other national issues begging for his attention. Inter religious groups like CAN and their Muslim counterpart should be called for an emergency meeting.” Adedoyin said.

CDMN also noted that the attacks on Christians killed specifically due to their religion was as a result of ISWAP renewed mission to persecute and kill Christians.

"We pray for the eternal repose of the souls of 10 Christians killed. We also offer our prayer for their bereaved family. We make our appeal once again to President Muhammadu Buhari to act swiftly and go after the perpetrators of this heinous crime and bring them to justice." Adedoyin said.

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has released the names of Nigeria’s presidential candidates and their running mates who will be contesting the February, 2019 presidential elections in the country.

The list signed by INEC secretary, Mrs Rose Oririan-Anthony contained 73 presidential candidates and their running mates.

APGA appoints Dn. Samson Segun Olalere as Director General of the Party’s Presidential Campaign Organization

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) Presidential Candidate, Dr. John W. Gbor's (Rtd General) has appointed Dn. Samson Segun Olalere, the National Vice Chairman Southwest of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) as the Director General of his campaign organization.

This was contained in a press release issued and made available on the party’s Social Media timeline.

Dn. Olalere, a seasoned Politician is an Economist by Profession and Micro Finance Consultant with the United Nations Development Program in Oyo State. A staunch member and scholar of the Late Obafemi Awolowo’s School of Thought. Dn. Olalere who is also the foundation and pioneer chairman of APGA in Oyo State and currently one of the Southwest leaders of the Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP). Oyo APGA won several councillorship seats in different local government areas of the state during his tenure as APGA Chairman. He has also contested several times as gubernatorial candidate of the party in 2011 and 2015 general elections.

Dn. Samson Olalere had held several state appointments among which are, Member, Oyo State Scholarship Board during the first term tenure of His Excellency, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and Member, Oyo State Marketing Board, during the political administration of Otunba Adebayo Alao Akala.

According to the release, Dn. Olalere’s mission is to propel the Campaign machine of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Dr. John W. Gbor's (Rtd General)

across Nigeria.

The party further disclosed that the new Director-General would announce other appointments into the campaign structure as approved by the Party and APGA Presidential Candidate.
